No Exit is a dance piece for 3 dancers by choreographer Christine Bonansea that premiered at ODC Theater in San Francisco on July 20th and 21st, 2012.
No Exit has been inspired by the Huis clos from Jean Paul Sartre. I explored a metaphorical transformative body. The creative process led me to refine my research on the body as containers/beings.

No Exit is a dance piece for 3 dancers by choreographer Christine Bonansea that premiered at ODC Theater in San Francisco on July 20th and 21st, 2012.
No Exit has been inspired from my previous piece, Soloil where I explored a metaphorical transformative body. The creative process led me to refine my research on the body as containers/beings.
The work explores the struggle we face in the physical and temporal limitations that mark the human condition. I offer a multimedia study of a codependent triangular relationship— reminiscent of Jean-Paul Sartre’s play of the same name —where three individuals test the limits of their own bodies and of time as they torment and abuse each other.
Visuals and hair sculptures define a surrealistic world, instable, source of alienation, where to unload their embodied burdens on each other, and thereby escape the containers of their own bodies in time and space. These three individuals are bound to suffer more as they find themselves surrounded by glaring, unforgiving reflections of their own cruelty.
The dynamic of the relationship keeps evolving and the discontinuity of the structure challenges identities, notions of cause, effect, progress, or destiny. They are no longer
